From the 1800's when Aurora began as a village along the Fox River and one of the first cities with streetlights and electric power, to the 20th century being known as the "City of Lights" and growing into a manufacturing and industrial center, Aurora has crossed into the 21st century with unique geography covering four counties, a diverse economy which includes commerce, service, research and technology, a spectrum of talented people of all professions and backgrounds, a blend of history and progress toward the future.
